Rules and Expectations
IN-CLASS
- Students should come early or on-time to class. As they arrive students will take their folder and sit in their assigned seat. Students will also have a pencil at every class or rehearsal.
- Students will be respectful of each other in every way, music is a way for us to grow together and learn from each other.
- Students will not talk while the teacher is giving instruction or working with another section unless it is an emergency.
OUT-OF-CLASS/ PERFORMANCE
- If students have a performance outside of school, they will conduct themselves in a manner that is well-representative of the school.
- During performance, students will follow proper concert etiquette, (ex. not talking during performance) and have the same expectations for in-class behavior in terms of respect for both the teacher and other students.
- While lining up to perform, students will not talk in respect for whoever is performing at that moment.
DISCIPLINARY ACTION
- I don't see disciplinary action as the only outlet to discipline, as I would rather find solutions to behavior and help students understand how their behavior impacts themselves and others. However, if I see fit, I will not hesitate to write-up a student for inappropriate behavior.
